# Sources, licences and attribution

This project combines software, open map data and Earth-observation products.
Their licences are separate and must not be conflated.

## Project code and text

The source code and original project text in this repository are distributed
under the GNU Affero General Public License, version 3. See [LICENSE](LICENSE).

## OpenStreetMap

The Rome road and rail sample is derived from OpenStreetMap through the
Overpass API.

OpenStreetMap data remains subject to the ODbL. The project licence does not
replace or relicense the underlying database rights.

## ESA WorldCover and Copernicus Sentinel data

The land-cover source is **ESA WorldCover 10 m 2021 v200**, distributed under
the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence.

## Product names

QGIS, GeoServer, Esri, ArcGIS, OpenStreetMap, ESA WorldCover and Copernicus are
used for factual identification. This independent comparison does not imply
endorsement by their respective projects or owners.

## Reuse

Before redistributing a derived dataset or image, retain the applicable source
attribution and review the ODbL and CC BY 4.0 terms. If the repository licence
and a data licence both apply, comply with both within their respective scope.
